Quick stop with a ton of history. Parking is off street and a short distance. Definitely worth stopping by while on the island.

Interesting location. It took longer to read the historical information than to walk through the building. It is kept very clean and plenty of parking. It is great 10 minute stop if you are into history.

Talk about history you're not taught. I want to learn more! Makes you ask questions! Some of the reading plaques need some attention. Hard to read, a couple of tilted plaques in need of repair. Hopefully they will keep them up. Put your self back in 1736 and image what these people put themselves thru!!!

Beautiful and well maintained. Informative signs. Garden near the main road. Gravel, pedestrian road only to pond near Driftwood Beach. Disappointing to see some graffiti on the house... Cemetery and bench overlooking the wetlands across the road.

Nearly 300-year-old ancient ruins on Jekyll Island, Georgia - who would’ve thought?! This is a really neat place to stop at and take a few photos (as well as read up on history) while exploring this highly underrated island. I recommend renting bicycles so you’re able to see the Horton House, Driftwood Beach, sea turtle rescue place, and many more sites! Have fun and try to take some unique photos here. There’s so much potential with what you can do. It’s crazy the structure is still standing after all those years - hurricanes, thunderstorms, flooding and other events stand no match to this house!

Free admission with parking pass on the island. Interestingly the house is right across from the burial ground. (which seemed to disappear from our sight among many other odd happenings that night ie: ghost like activities and animals acting bizarre)

It's peaceful and interesting. The walking trail across the street is nice, with a lovely view. Horton Pond is located behind, but it was such a long walk we never found it along the mosquito ridden path. The historical markers help to keep you interested and brings you back in time several hundred years....
